Welcome to the result of my positivity practice, where I spend 10 minutes per day thinking about what I’m enjoying, and finding value in. I’ll be doing just one newsletter this week as it’s an incredibly busy time for me.
A Song:
A Picture:
Today is my mom’s birthday, so I thought I’d share some of her creations. She’s a potter who uses leaves and other natural materials as accents in her work. The leaf burns away during the firing process, leaving a perfect imprint behind. I think the result is gorgeous and am insanely proud of her! Her work is available at River’s Mist Gallery in Stevensville, Montana.
Some Inspiration:
Emu OS for Legacy Games. I haven’t had time to dig in on this, so I don’t know how well it works, but it was recommended to me and I think its very cool. Emu is an online operating system that runs a clone of Windows 95. It’s cool because it has a bunch of vintage games pre-loaded on it. So, if you’re feeling nostalgic for SkiFree or Doom, this could be a good way to kill a few hours.

Unity by Alfred Noyes. This poem is pretty special to me. It’s simple, thoughtful, and inspirational. Here it is, in its entirety:
I.
Heart of my heart, the world is young;
Love lies hidden in every rose!
Every song that the skylark sung
Once, we thought, must come to a close:
Now we know the spirit of song,
Song that is merged in the chant of the whole,
Hand in hand as we wander along,
What should we doubt of the years that roll?II.
Heart of my heart, we cannot die!
Love triumphant in flower and tree,
Every life that laughs at the sky
Tells us nothing can cease to be:
One, we are one with the song to-day,
One with the clover that scents the world,
One with the Unknown, far away,
One with the stars, when earth grows old.III.
Heart of my heart, we are one with the wind,
One with the clouds that are whirled o’er the lea,
One in many, O broken and blind,
One as the waves are at one with the sea!
Ay! When life seems scattered apart,
Darkens, ends as a tale that is told,
One, we are one, O heart of my heart,
One, still one, while the world grows old.
