SPI: 12.30.21
Welcome to the result of my positivity practice, where I spend 10 minutes per day thinking about what I’m enjoying, and finding value in. I hope you all have a safe and happy New Year! Wishing you much love and success in 2022.
A Song:
This is a really good song to close out 2021 with. For me, it’s been a year full of hope, heartbreak, promise, disappointment, and ultimately, deep enthusiasm for the things that give my life real meaning.
A Picture:
This is a picture of Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Montana. It’s definitely in the running for the most stunning drives on planet earth. If you haven’t visited it, you simply must. The road is also open only to bikers (no motors) for a few weeks each year, usually in June. It’s not an easy ride, but there’s no better way to see the sights.
Some Inspiration:
Today’s inspiration is all about looking forward. The resources below are the deep dives I’ve done recently to understand what’s happening in the world, and where we’re heading next year. These will take real time and commitment to work through, but I guarantee that if you do, you’ll be dramatically more aware of important trends, and you’ll be more primed to thrive next year.
P.S. It’s not lost on me that these are 100% male perspectives. Please let me know who the women are that are publicly discussing what they see coming. I want those voices too.
Balaji Srinivasan on the Tim Ferriss Show. You may not be familiar with who Balaji is, but I think he’s one of the preeminent thinkers of our time. As with all people like this, I’m not endorsing all of what he says, but I think he’s very smart, directionally accurate, and one of the best at synthesizing complex data to understand macro-economic and cultural changes. This is an extremely long episode at almost 5 hours, but it’s worth it.

The All In Podcast 2022 Predictions Episode. I’ve posted the All In Podcast before, but this episode is important. Here are four market makers that control extremely significant capital discussing what they think is coming next year. You may not like what you hear, but ignore at your own risk. As with the link above, I don’t agree with all of this, but it’s wonderful to hear divergent and intelligent points of view.
See you in 2022! If you’re enjoying this, please subscribe and share.
