Welcome to the result of my positivity practice, where I spend 10 minutes per day thinking about what I’m enjoying, and finding value in.
A Song:
I hope you enjoy this modern take on a classic!
A Picture:
This picture is of a friend’s ranch on the Rocky Mountain front near Augusta, MT. It’s so rugged and wild that it’s difficult to describe. The wildlife is some of the largest and most plentiful I’ve ever seen.
Some Inspiration:
Lower your consumption and carbon footprint. This time of year, I’m always stunned by the waste and excess that Americans tend to generate. We can, and must do better. There are a bunch of sites I use to lower my carbon footprint by reusing items that others aren’t any longer. I’ve gotten a bit fanatical about it in recent years - so much so that I haven’t purchased a new item of clothing in a very long time. I work hard to find what I need on used marketplaces first, then if I cannot, I consider buying new. You’re all familiar with eBay, but here are a few other sites that are excellent:
https://www.mercari.com/ - A used goods marketplace that’s got a great general selection.
https://shopgoodwill.com/ - Did you know that Goodwill operates an online marketplace? Typically only things that are high-end-ish, and in great condition make their way to this site.
https://poshmark.com/ - This site is focused on clothing, but there are some other things on there as well. If you’re in the market for designer brands being sold lightly used, Poshmark is the place to look.
Crypto grants for Web3 development. If you’re working with Blockchains, there are a few crypto grants that have emerged to support notable projects. They’re for up to $250,000 and typically have very low application thresholds, given the capital available. This is one of the most exciting spaces in technology currently, so it’s great to see some grants to support it.
